This component is under development, but is designed to allow member to sign up and create a profile defining the parameters for walks in which they are interested.
It would then scan the feed of new walks, notifying by email any members for whom the walk was a fit to their profile. By following a link from this email, the member could then choose to "Follow" the walk. Anyone choosing to do this would enjoy the following benefits:
- They would automatically be informed of any subsequent changes to the walk
- the leader would very simply be able to send an email to all Followers (for example if the walk is cancelled or changed)
- they would be able to see the list of other Followers
- they would be able communicate with other Followers by email, for example to arrange transport before the walk
- the day before the walk, they would be sent an email reminder, including navigation links for Google maps and W3W
- after the walk, all Followers would be sent an email with a link to enable uploading to the website of photos/comments
